Are You Ever Too Old to Create?
Never underestimate the power of your story.
Hey there, friends. Welcome back to my channel. Today, we're looking at the project of making-a keepsafe box.
But before we dive in, I want to talk about something that's been on my mind lately-getting older and staying relevant.
You see, as we age, there's this misconception that our creativity fades and our relevance dwindles.
But I'm here to tell you that couldn't be further from the truth.
Age isn't a barrier to creativity; it's a badge of honor, a testament to a lifetime of experiences and wisdom.
Creating something with your own hands is timeless. It's a way to capture memories, moments,
and emotions in a tangible form. And that's exactly what we're doing here today , to talk about this keepsafe box.
You see, I measured, cut, assembled and sanded this box to the form it is now, I put on the finishing touches to create this special box.
Whether you're 23 or 63, never underestimate the power of your own creativity.
Embrace your journey, embrace your age, and most importantly, embrace the stories you have to tell.
So, here's to getting older, here's to staying relevant, and here's to crafting memories that last a lifetime.
Thanks for joining me on this journey, my friends. Until next time, keep creating and never forget the power of your story.

    HI Dan I just found your video. Great job of explaining. I was wondering how the ice came out. Anyway I just installed one of these ice makers in my brand new refrig. I followed the instructions word for word. turned on the water, turned on the ice maker. The green LED came on. Nothing happens. I had my wife turn it on and off while I had my hand on the water valve. I don't feel or hear a click. Any thoughts. Or tips on diagnosing. Or should I just get another ice maker.

    does it make any sense to install a GFCI somewhere other than close to a kitchen or bathroom sink? i have an older house that still has quite a few 2 prong outlets, am i better off replacing all the 2 prong outlets with 3 prong or should i also use GFCI's in some of the outlets?

    • @surferdude642
      @surferdude642 Місяць тому

      Yes. A good strategy would be to replace some of your most commonly used outlets to GFCI's where appliances with 3 prong plugs will be used, and leave the others as is, or replace them with new 2 prong receptacles. Keep in mind that many appliances have 2 prong polarized plugs anyway, so you should be fine. Don't use regular 3 prong receptacles as a substitute for 2 prong. Appliances with 3 prong cords are relying on the ground connection to be there for safety. Appliances or tools with 2 prong cords are double insulated and have a plastic non conductive case, so they are safe as is.

    Another youtube says load should not be used (in series) as the next receptacle will be hot when that gfi trips, is that true ?

    • @surferdude642
      @surferdude642 Місяць тому

      The power comes in on the LINE side and can be wired also from the LINE to the next receptacle. In this scenario, yes, the next receptacle will be hot if the GFCI trips. The LOAD would be used if you want downstream receptacles to also be disabled if the GFCI trips.

    Hi, I followed your instructions but they did not work out. I loosened the top screws then took out the bottom screw per your instructions. But the ice maker did not come out! I had to remove the rear screw, then it came out easy. Replacing the ice maker was a chore the ice maker would not go on both top screws. I had to enlarge the rear hole so that the screw would easily go in. After this every thing went smoothly. Very awkward to get to screws. Your video did not mention how awkward it was. I spent 3 hours work on this project. The Ice maker fix was 10 seconds. Tom Jennings

    at again im studying all your video boss: How to Install a 20 AMP Circuit Breaker Tools and Materials Needed: 20 AMP circuit breaker Screwdriver Wire stripper Voltage tester Electrical tape Safety gloves and goggles Steps to Install a 20 AMP Circuit Breaker: Turn Off the Main Power: Locate the main power breaker in your electrical panel and switch it off to cut power to the entire house. This is a crucial safety step to prevent electrical shock. Remove the Panel Cover: Use a screwdriver to remove the screws holding the panel cover in place. Carefully set the cover aside. Identify an Empty Slot: Identify an empty slot in the breaker panel where you can install the new 20 AMP circuit breaker. Ensure the slot is compatible with the type of breaker you are installing. Test for Voltage: Use a voltage tester to ensure there is no power running through the electrical panel. This double-checks that it is safe to proceed. Prepare the Wires: Strip

    How to Hook Up a GFCI Outlet Tools and Materials Needed: GFCI outlet Screwdriver Wire stripper Voltage tester Electrical tape Wire nuts Steps: Turn Off Power: Locate the circuit breaker that controls the outlet you’re replacing and switch it off. Use a voltage tester to ensure the power is off. Remove Old Outlet: Unscrew the cover plate and the screws holding the old outlet in place. Gently pull the outlet out of the electrical box. Identify Wires: You should see three sets of wires: a black (hot), a white (neutral), and a bare or green (ground) wire. Use the voltage tester to ensure there is no current. Prepare Wires: Straighten the ends of the wires using a wire stripper if necessary. Connect Wires to GFCI Outlet: Line Terminals: Connect the black (hot) wire to the brass “Line” terminal and the white (neutral) wire to the silver “Line” terminal. Load Terminals: If protecting additional outlets downstream, connect the black and white wires going to those outlets to the “Load” terminals. Ground Wire: Attach the ground wire to the green screw. Secure the GFCI Outlet: Gently fold the wires back into the electrical box and screw the GFCI outlet in place. Attach the cover plate. Restore Power: Turn the circuit breaker back on and test the GFCI outlet by pressing the “Test” and “Reset” buttons to ensure it functions properly. Summary of Excellent Result for the Customer After completing the installation of the GFCI outlet, the customer can expect an excellent result characterized by improved electrical safety and functionality. The GFCI outlet will provide crucial protection against electrical shocks by immediately shutting off power if it detects an imbalance in the current flow, which can happen if there’s a ground fault. This is particularly important in areas where water and electricity might come into contact, such as kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor locations. Furthermore, the new GFCI outlet installation ensures compliance with current electrical codes, adding an extra layer of safety and potentially increasing the property’s value. The customer can confidently use their electrical appliances, knowing that the risk of electric shock is significantly reduced. The professional and neat installation also enhances the appearance and reliability of the home’s electrical system.

    Thank you sooooo much for being so detailed. I'm a Retired single female on a limited budget and my tester button broke on my GFCI outlet, and I know I need to replace it. My house was built in 2014 and due to Power outages and several appliances plugged up, what you've stated explains why I need to change it anyway. Your tutorial is so easy to follow. I remember things by "word association"...Example: I remember "Power Line" has Electricity flowing through it (like the street Power Lines outside) and "Neutral Ground" meaning they're on the same side (meaning agreement) 😊.
